Ted Dinero

(2007) Utah, USA

DRAPER, Utah (BusinessWire EON) August 28, 2007 -- For every kid who’s ever dreamed of running around in green spandex and helping people with their finances, here’s proof that dreams really do come true. Ted Dinero has revealed himself as the world’s first budgeting superhero, claiming a mix of special powers and dance moves. But what sets Dinero apart from more famous superheroes is his unrelenting drive to accomplish one thing: save the world from poor financial decisions (while also collecting any loose change).

When I was a wee lad, I would often wake up screaming because of some budget-related nightmare,” said Dinero. “My Mom said it was from of all those chimichangas I’d eat before bed, but I knew it was really a sign that America needed my help.”

And help financially-floundering families is precisely what Dinero does. At his disposal are the latest financial tools and technology to combat poor money management. In addition to vast knowledge of financial facts, Dinero also operates an informative Web site which features the hero and his many offbeat adventures. Admirers can watch Dinero’s videos, read his money tips and even try out his free budgeting program of choice. And coming soon, Dinero will also be able to interact with fans via a Web cam and live chat feature.

“While Ted and I might differ on what’s tasteful in terms of superhero costumes, who can argue with a guy that so enthusiastically promotes financial fitness?” said Steve Smith, president and CEO of In2M. “Mr. Dinero’s ability to show people how to turn pennies into dollars is undoubtedly his greatest power.”

Born in a home where saving money was frowned upon and budgets were ‘something nerds did,’ Ted Dinero decided early on that he wanted a better life. Leaving home at a young age, Ted wandered alone and friendless for many years until settling down as a financial advisor for a major firm. But his past would ever haunt him and Ted was eventually fired for making a major financial mistake. While wallowing in his own self-pity, Ted was dazed by a strange, glowing dollar bill. When he came to, he was clad in a green spandex costume with red boots. At last Ted knew that his true destiny was to become the world’s first budgeting superhero and put the fun back into finances.
