Synopsis:
The main character of Kapitan Kidlat was Inocencio Santos, a shy and humble man working at a police station. One day "Supreme God" Zeus granted him incredible powers, such as super strength and the ability to fly and shoot bolts of lightning. These would enable him to protect the innocent and helpless against criminals. By uttering the phrase "Kapitan Kidlat, Ngayon!" ("Captain Lightning, Now!"), he would transform into the heroic Kapitan Kidlat.

Kapitan Kidlat made his comeback appearances in the 80s. This time, newcomer Carlo Gabriel was assigned to portray Kapitan Kidlat in 1981 taking over the character previously starred by popular 50s matinee idol Armando Goyena.
