Synopsis:
Insee Daeng (Red Eagle) is a characters starring in a lot of movies from 1950s to '60s. These movie series are about a masked vigilante crimefighter, who was portrayed by the great action star Mitr Chaibancha. In modern time there are a TV serie in 1998, three-film series in 2003 starring the same lead actor of the TV serie, and in 2009 is planned a new big screen movie.

The character was created by writer Sek Dusit, inspired by Rock Hudson, and the first Red Eagle stories were published in 1955. The first Red Eagle film was Jao Nak Leng "The Gangster", starring Mitr and released in 1959. Subsequent Red Eagle movies were Awasan Insee Dang "End of the Red Eagle" (1963), Pisat Dam "Black Demon" (1966), Jao Insee "The Eagle" (1968), and Insee Thong "The Golden Eagle" (1970).
